Okay, first time sending these emails so not exactly sure how to do this. But I'll just kind of say stuff that happened everyday I guess.
Wednesday- First Day. Got to the MTC had the host Elder show around. Picked up all my books, went to my residence then went to the classroom. Showed up in the classroom and the teacher. Hermano Dolbin just started talking to me in Spanish and I had no idea what was happening. He was just pointed at a chair so I knew that meant sit down. So that was pretty crazy. Met my district of 5 Elders. Only 5 of us. So I was put into a tri companionship with Elder Johnson and Elder Smith, then Elder Beckett and Peltier were companions. Then we learned a bit of Spanish and went to an orientation with all the new missionaries. During orientation we sang 'Armies of Helaman' but the words were changed a bit so it said "We are now the Lord's missionaries" and right then I felt the spirit so strong and I just knew I was supposed to be there.
Thursday- On Thursday we learned Spanish then found out that we have to teach an investigator the next day. All in Spanish... Later we met with our Zone Leaders they are pretty awesome. Then we met our Branch Presidency. They pretty much just wanted to get to know us a bit. So wasn't really a special day.
Friday- Met the rest of the Zone on Friday. They are all awesome. My district is pretty awesome too so it's fun. We all like to have fun so its a good time. But we also work when we are supposed to so that's good. Taught the first investigator today. It didn't go very well... We prepared a few questions in Spanish for him and a couple things that we could say for the lesson. But the problem was when he would answer questions or have questions we would have no idea what he was saying... Luckily Elder Johnson knows a lot of Spanish already so it didn't completely fail.
Saturday- On Saturday we had to do a service assignment. Was just vacuuming a few rooms nothing too hard. Then we had to teach the Investigator Jesus Benjamin again. It wen't a lot better. We learned from the lesson the day before so I think we were more prepared. And having another day to learn a bit more of Spanish definitely helped a lot. Every day I slowly get better at Spanish. The rest of our Zone which is just 1 District is leaving on Monday so we will be the Senior District once new people come on Wednesday. Teaching new missionaries stuff about the MTC that we don't even know should be interesting...
Sunday- On Sunday we just had lots of meeting. Then at end of the day we met with the Branch Presidency. I became the District Leader and then I also got my companionship changed... that was hard cause I was pretty close to Elder Johnson and Smith. Elder Peltier and Beckett are awesome too but it's just not the same. I was told that I got changed cause I am supposed to help them open up more. Luckily god is helping me to not be Shy.
Monday- The rest of the zone left today so that was sad. But we just kept learning Spanish. Got another investigator named Mercedes. So now we teach 2 lessons some days. It's hard but its slowly getting easier as I learn more and more Spanish.
Tuesday- Tuesday was basically a normal day until the evening when we had a Devotional with Per. G. Malm. He gave a great talk about having exact obedience it was great. My District definitely needs to work on that because we are late a lot.
Wednesday- On Wednesday new missionaries came in. When I came to the MTC there was 90 of us. But this week there are 600. And i saw a lot of people I knew. I saw Hunter (Mary's older brother), Jeremy Bunker, and then 2 friends who I was in French class with are now on my floor on French speaking missions. Weird how that worked out. But yea other then that just taught lessons and learned Spanish.
Thursday- First P-Day! We went to the Temple as early as we could. Got up at 6 but only made it in time for the 7:30session it was awesome. Then we just did laundry and wrote emails. But its been nice to get a little break from the Teaching and Spanish.
Not sure how to send pictures. No one is able to figure it out so no pictures this week. Sorry!
