Llano Branch! - Week 18 Marble Falls

We had another awesome week this week. It has been raining a lot so it
is super humid right now though!

I had to do a baptismal interview this week. So I went on exchanges
with Elder Hall again. I've never had to do a baptismal interview
before, but it went great. It was really fun to talk to someone that
is just so excited for their baptism. And I got to go to a different
area for a day which was weird. I haven' t left Marble Falls in a long
time.

Then the day after exchanges with Elder Hall we had a great Zone
Meeting and then we did exchanges with the Zone Leaders. So I got to
go over to Austin with Elder Caldwell. I left Marble Falls twice in
one week. It was super weird. But it is always fun to work with the
Zone Leaders and learn all sorts of cool things. We had a great day
and got to talk to a lot of people.

We actually started talking to Patti's mom, Malena, and she is super
sweet. We were just talking to her and she started asking us all sorts
of questions about God and so it turned into an amazing lesson. Then
we also met a lady named Marcela. We were talking to her about
prophets and then talked about Joseph Smith and how this is the only
church that has God's authority. Then she said how amazing that
sounded but wanted to know how she could find out its true. And so she
was even more excited when we told her she just had to read the Book
of Mormon.

We have also been working with this lady named Maria. We have taught
her a few times and she has understood everything very well. She has
even quit coffee already just because she wants to start following God
more. Well we went over yesterday and it turns out that she has been
listening to the Book of Mormon everyday and has listened to over half
of it! We invited her to be baptized and she said yes. She just said
that she wants to be 100% sure that this is in fact the church with
God's authority. She told me that she is like 90% sure but she just
wants to be even more sure.

So we are seeing lots of miracles over here.

Pickle Potion - Week 17 Marble Falls

April 11, 2016

We had a great week. We have been really really busy lately. The
senior missionary couple that covers the branch that is like 30
minutes away from us is going home next week. And since we are the
closest missionaries we are going to have to cover their branch at
least until transfers. So we have been going with them to meet
everyone over there and stuff. It is going to be really hard to cover
both areas because everything is so spread out. But we'll find a way.

We were able to see a lot of miracles again this last week. We found a
few new investigators who just understood everything super well.
We met this lady named Maria and taught her and she understood
everything very well. We talked about priesthood authority and after
she told us that she thinks the pope and her preacher are fakes
because they don't have the authority. That was intense. But she said
that she wants to be baptized and even quit drinking coffee already.

We were able to have a lot of very powerful lessons with many
different people. There were many people who felt that this is true,
now they just need to accept it. So we are working with them. It takes
time usually because they are completely changing their lives, but it
is really cool to see the changes take place.

April Fools Day - Week 16 Marble Falls

April 4, 2016

Well, I had no idea that April Fools day happened. But this week was
pretty good. It is starting to get pretty hot though!

This week I did exchanges with Elder Aguila again. We had an awesome
day. We were able to find an awesome family that used to live in Utah.
They were pretty interested in coming to church! We also got to teach
a few great lessons to some investigators that we have been working
with.

We were able to help Patti out a lot this week. She needed some help
with money so that she could get a house. The church was able to help
and she was super thankful for that. We got to talk with Angel a lot
more as well. He is doing great and just loves coming to church and
reading the Children's Book of Mormon that we gave him. We are still
trying to get them to set up a baptismal date though. They want to do
it in May still but we are trying to set it up sooner.

This week we met a lot of new people again. We have been able to find
a lot of people who are interested in learning more. So right now we
are just trying to help them take bigger steps and come to church.

General Conference was this week as well! It was great. We watched it
in Spanish on Sunday because Sis. Nix brought a less active with her
that didn't speak English so we watched it with them on my iPad. It
was great to hear from the leaders of the church again to know what we
need to do better.

Easter - Week 15 Marble Falls

March 28, 2016

I hope everyone had a great Easter. We had a pretty normal Easter.
Saturday was kind of crazy though. We were at this Mexican guy named
Juan's house and his wife and 2 sister in laws pulled out a bunch of
confetti eggs. So them and the kids were smashing the confetti eggs on
each other but then they decided to all attack us. So we got destroyed
by confetti eggs. It was pretty funny though.

Elder Trent and I have been able to see a lot of success. We were able
to meet a lot of great new people and taught a lot of lessons.
People's hearts are definitely more open during the Easter time.

And now it is conference time! It's another great time when people are
ready to hear the Gospel. So I am super excited for that. There is a
lot of great stuff happening right now. Sis Nix has been trying to get
us to teach her friend and her family and we were finally able to meet
them. And then another Sister named Sister Olesen, introduced us to 2
other families that are interested in learning. Even the members are
getting involved now. It's great!
